Terms of Service

Rules for using our site and attending the conference. Last updated: April 2026.

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MIT AI Conference website and services. By registering for or accessing the Conference, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not participate in the Conference.

Registration & Tickets

Ticket Purchase: Tickets are non-refundable once purchased. Tickets purchased through Luma may be transferred to another individual at no cost up to two weeks before the event.

Eligibility: By registering, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into these Terms.

Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering or submitting forms.

Speaker Nominations & Submissions

By nominating a speaker, submitting a Research Slam presentation, or applying to the Hackathon, you represent that:

  • You have the authority to submit the information provided
  • All information is accurate and truthful
  • The submission does not infringe on any third-party rights
  • The submission complies with applicable laws and our submission guidelines

We reserve the right to reject any submission that violates these Terms or does not align with the Conference values. Decisions are made at the sole discretion of our editorial committee.

Intellectual Property

By presenting at the Conference, speaking, or participating in sessions, you grant the MIT AI Conference and MITAS a non-exclusive license to record, photograph, and use your image, likeness, and any presented content for marketing, promotional, and educational purposes, including on our website, social media, and in promotional materials.

If you do not wish your image or content to be recorded or shared, please notify the Conference team in advance.

Code of Conduct

All participants agree to abide by a respectful Code of Conduct. The Conference is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and professional environment. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or behavior that violates our community values.

Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:

  • Harassment or discrimination based on protected characteristics
  • Offensive remarks or comments
  • Unwelcome physical contact
  • Disruption of Conference sessions or events

Violations may result in removal from the Conference without refund.

No Vendor Pitches

The MIT AI Conference is a practitioner-focused event. Vendor pitches, commercial product demonstrations, and promotional talks are not accepted. The Conference focuses on sharing real-world deployment experience, research insights, and actionable knowledge.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MITAS and the Conference shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your participation in or access to the Conference, including damages for lost profits, lost data, or interruption of business.

Disclaimers

The Conference is provided on an "as-is" basis. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information presented or services provided. While we strive to provide current and accurate information, speakers and presentations represent their own views and experience.

In-Person Attendance

The MIT AI Conference is held in-person only at the specified venue in Mountain View, CA. There is no virtual or livestream option. By registering, you acknowledge that you understand the in-person nature of the event.

Health & Safety

Participants are responsible for their own health and safety. The Conference is held in a fully accessible venue. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us at hello@mitas.org.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflicts of law principles.
