Jen García

Caltech CTME , Advising and Teaching AI Programs

Jen García advises and teaches AI programs at Caltech's Center for Technology and Management Education, where she designs and delivers AI fluency curriculum for non-technical professionals, including large corporate audiences across industries. She co-designed and co-teaches Caltech's AI for Project Management lab, where project managers learn to build reusable AI projects and skills, direct AI agents, and verify and validate the work those systems produce. She is also the founder of Ingrained.ai, where she trains professionals across business, education, government, and social impact to use AI tools with fluency and judgment. Jen brings to AI fluency an engineer's discipline and an educator's understanding of how people learn. An emerging engineer, she holds the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate, INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional, and Project Management Professional credentials. Jen has trained thousands of people, among them teams at the San Francisco Giants, Disney, and Northrop Grumman, and her clients have included the Los Angeles County Management Council, DoorDash, the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and the Project Management Institute. Earlier, as AI Executive-in-Residence at the Goldhirsh Foundation, she led its LA2050 AI program for nearly two years, providing AI training and guidance to nonprofits and public agencies, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, Brooklyn Public Library, and AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles. Before moving into AI, Jen taught English for 16 years at UCLA and UCI Extensions and USC, then spent three years in workforce development through her nonprofit Employ California. Beyond her work, she is a reader, a writer, a triathlete, an open-water swimmer who swam from Alcatraz in 2025 and 2026, and—according to her fiancé—a fabulous cook. Along with learning Spanish (finally!), she is learning the ukulele, 3D printing, and watercolor painting while training for her first half Ironman. Clearly, Jen is taking this age of agency as far as it can go.
